MINI BIO:
Fair-haired, sleepy-looking singer with rich, soothing voice whose warm and friendly image, made him into one of Hollywood's biggest stars, especially in the forties, when he was No. 1 box-office attraction in the country. Won an Oscar for Going My Way (1944), although his best work was in the "Road" films with Bob Hope and as a dramatic actor in The Country Girl (1954). Married to actresses Dixie Lee (1930-1952) - she died of cancer - and Kathryn Grant (1957 on). So much of Crosby's screen work consisted of gag guest spots in other people's (mostly Hope's) films that such appearances have been marked (G). Died from a heart attack after a round of golf. Also Oscar-nominated for The Bells of St. Mary's and The Country Girl. (Source: available at Amazon Quinlan's Film Stars).HONORS and AWARDS:

Bing Crosby Quotes:
Father Fitzgibbons: I'm sure that the way to say what I'd like to say will occur to me after you've gone.
Bill 'Billy' Williams: [singing] Out where they say, "Let us be gay," I'm goin' Hollywood. I'll ballyhoo greetings to you, I'm goin' Hollywood. Hey, while you sleepyheads are in that hay, I'll be dancing - I'm gonna be dancing with a sun-kissed baby. And I'm on my way - here's my beret, I'm going Hollywood!
