Donald Meek Overview:
Character actor, Donald Meek, was born on Jul 14, 1878 in Glasgow, Scotland. Meek died at the age of 68 on Nov 18, 1946 in Los Angeles, CA from leukemia .
MINI BIO:
Slight, bald and quavery-voiced, Donald Meek was the personification of the timid soul. Ironically, off screen the gifted comic was a strong and determined man who served in two wars (Spanish-American War and World War I), toured as an acrobat, and loved boxing. Born in Scotland, this stage veteran made 20 films in a single year (1935) including The Informer, in which he played one of his first major parts. Other notable films include You Can't Take it With You (1938), Stagecoach (1939), My Little Chickadee (1940), Keeper of the Flame (1942) and State Fair (1945)
