Martin Radley makes a comment about the false name he used when he rang Barbara Everton and links it to the poem "Enoch Arden". This is a poem published in 1864 by Alfred Lord Tennyson, the Poet Laureate at the time. The poem is about a man goes to sea to earn money to support his wife and family and returns after ten years to find his wife is remarried with a new child.
