The Tarnished Angels Overview:

The Tarnished Angels (1958) was a Drama - Black-and-white Film directed by Douglas Sirk and produced by Albert Zugsmith.

SYNOPSIS

Sirk gives Faulkner a stirring adaptation. His version of the novelist's Pylon, a story based on Faulkner's barnstorming brother, reunites the three leads of Sirk's Written on the Wind (1957). In Depression-era New Orleans, journalist Hudson gets the assignment to cover a trio of stunt-fliers, pilot Stack, his wing-walker wife Malone, and mechanic Carson. He becomes intrigued by the former WWI ace Stack, and feels sympathy for Malone, who offers herself to a leering businessman to get her husband access to an experimental plane. The plane brings the barnstorming family tragedy. Well-acted, well-produced melodrama.
