The Searchers song "Saturday Night Out" was issued as the b-side of their worldwide hit version of "Needles and Pins".
The Beatles were offered the chance to appear in the film, but the producers were reluctant to pay the train fare from Liverpool. Another Mersey group, The Searchers, who happened to be in London, appeared instead.
The pop group The Searchers receive an "introducing" credit. They sing a few songs in a pub but have no acting involvement.
