Facts about
When Director Alfred Vohrer fell ill during the shooting, producer Horst Wendlandt hired director / writer Will Tremper to complete the remaining scenes. According to Assistant Director Eva Ebner, Tremper didn't exactly know what to do (and wasn't interested either) and most of the scenes were directed by Ebner and Cinematographer Karl Löb (both long-time companions and friends of Vohrer as well).
Initially, Horst Wendlandt planned to produce another "Hexer"-Sequel in 1966 as the first color film of his Edgar Wallace-Series (the then working title simply was "Hexer III") and directed by Alfred Vohrer again. However, since this film hasn't had as much success at the box office as Wendlandt hoped for, he decided to skip the project.
