The character, "Boston Blackie," was first used in a story, "Boston Blackie's Mary," by Jack Boyle, in Red Book Magazine, published November 1917.
A Hollywood Reporter production chart listed George E. Stone as a cast member, but he was not seen in the film. Stone replaced Charles Wagenheim as "The Runt" in later films in the series.
Richard Lane's character name is spelled Faraday in this film; in all subsequent films it is spelled Farraday.
