Arthur Howard was first booked to play The Jeweller's assistant but William Murray replaced him, and Howard was cast as a man on the train instead.
Production documents list Harry Welchman as playing Mr De Vere Smith and Danny Green as being cast as Frisby, but these actors or characters are nowhere to been seen in the final print.
Audrey Hepburn was originally offered one of the major female roles in this film, but was committed to a stage play and had to turn it down. She ended up with a bit role playing a sexy cigarette girl instead.
