Facts about

First appearance of Porky Pig.
The title is from the song "I Haven't Got a Hat", written by Buddy Bernier and Bob Emmerich and sung during the cartoon short.
Was conceived as an attempt to create a cartoon equivalent of Hal Roach's "Our Gang" shorts. Only a handful of cartoons were made with the new characters before the concept was dropped. Although there was an effort to make Beans the cat the newest Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies star, that role eventually went to Porky Pig.
