"Lux Radio Theater" broadcast a 60 minute radio adaptation of the movie onJanuary 23, 1939 with George Arliss, Cesar Romero and Douglass Dumbrille reprising their film roles.
Star George Arliss and Edward Arnold did not get along at all on this film, with Arnold charitably describing working with Arliss as "a trying experience".
The play first opened in London in 1839; then on Broadway in New York City, New York, USA on 4 September 1839 with Edwin Forrest as the title character. There were 12 Broadway revivals, the last in 1929.
