Facts about
Discarded footage from Stagecoach was used in this film.
Richard Rosson worked on the film as director from the pre-production stage starting December 1941 until early April 1942. After 31 days of shooting, he became ill and was replaced by Richard Thorpe, who received sole onscreen credit, despite working on the film for only 2 weeks.
Three cast members in studio records/casting call lists did not appear or were not identifiable in the movie. These were (with their character names): Nora Cecil (Passenger), Joseph E. Bernard (Tall Man) and Byron Foulger (Clerk). Arthur Hoyt, who is listed as Meredith, is barely seen and has no lines as a traveling companion of Sarah Edwards. Cecil probably was replaced by Edwards and Foulger by Walter Soderling.
