The Beatles were offered the chance to appear in the film, but the producers were reluctant to pay the train fare from Liverpool. Another Mersey group, The Searchers, who happened to be in London, appeared instead.

The Searchers song "Saturday Night Out" was issued as the b-side of their worldwide hit version of "Needles and Pins".

Despite previous reports this was not the last cinema film of Heather Sears. She later appeared in The Black Torment which was made by the same production team.

The pop group The Searchers receive an "introducing" credit. They sing a few songs in a pub but have no acting involvement.
