Stefan Zweig (November 28, 1881 ? February 23, 1942) was an Austrian novelist, playwright, journalist and biographer. At the height of his literary career, in the 1920s and 1930s, he was one of the most famous writers in the world.

His 1932 biography of Queen Marie-Antoinette (Marie Antoinette: The Portrait of an Average Woman) was later adapted for the 1938 Hollywood movie, starring Norma Shearer in the title role and Tyrone Power as Count Axel von Fersen.
