MINI BIO:
Dark-haired American actor whose close-set, unfriendly-looking features consigned him to playing whining runts and treacherous, lily-livered hoodlums. Two typical roles at either end of his career were Louie the Weasel in You Can't Beat Love and an Indian called Worm in Chief Crazy Horse. He came to Hollywood in 1935 after an extensive Broadway career, and had already made more than 50 films before the end of 1950. His son Paul is also an actor.
