MINI BIO:

Cloris Leachman was a thin-faced blonde American actress who appeared mostly in anguished roles, but was no slouch in screwball comedies. She was tremendously busy working on television from the late 1940s, and was hardly seen in film until she won a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for "The Last Picture Show" which brought her wider recognition. Television called her back for featured (and sometimes starring) roles in many TV movies and shows of the 1970s and 1980's.

Her classmates at the Drama Department of Northwestern University included Paul Lynde, Charlotte Rae, Martha Hyer, Patricia Neal and Agnes Nixon.

She was awarded the 1978 Joseph Jefferson Award for Guest Artist for her performance in the play, "Twigs", at the Marriott Theatre in Chicago, Illinois.
