Legendary actor, Herbert Marshall, was born Herbert Brough Falcon Marshall on May 23, 1890 in London, UK. Marshall appeared in ove 90 film and TV roles. His best known films include The Letter (both the 1929 and more famous 1940 versions), Trouble in Paradise (1932), Blonde Venus (1932), The Little Foxes (1941), The Enchanted Cottage (1945), The Razor's Edge (1946), Duel in the Sun (1946), The Fly (1958) and Midnight Lace (1960). Marshall died at the age of 75 on Jan 22, 1966 in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles and was laid to rest in Chapel of the Pines Crematory Cemetery in Los Angeles, CA.

MINI BIO:

Smooth and deliberately-spoken, Herbert Marshall diligently pursued his acting career, at first in Britain but soon in Hollywood, despite the loss of a leg in World War I. He came into films late but made up for it by remaining in star roles until well into his sixties. He was equally elegant in comedy or drama. Marshall was married to actresses Edna Best (1928-1940) and Boots Mallory (1946-1958), the second and fourth of five wives.

He was honored with one star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the category of Motion Pictures. Marshall was never nominated for an Academy Award.
