MINI BIO:
Friendly and solid-built leading man turned character actor, Eddie Albert started his show business career in such diverse occupations as radio singer and trapeze artist. He became a stage actor in light comedy roles in his late twenties. His Broadway success in Brother Rat led him to repeat his role in the 1938 film. He was mainly seen as a light lead, hero's friend or comedy relief until the 1950s, but after his Oscar nomination for Roman Holiday he began to attempt a wider range of roles. Continuing to offer solid, thoughtful performances, even in 'forgettable' films, he was further nominated for an Oscar in The Heartbreak Kid. He married actress Margo (Maria Castilla) in 1945.
