MINI BIO:
It seemed that this dark-haired American actress, with her alabaster beauty, was forever after roles as tempestuous women of destiny (perhaps to escape her saintly Oscar for The Song of Bernadette) when what she was best at, in terms of getting an audience to respond to the character, were the Jennies, the Miss Doves, and the Cluny Browns of this world. Married to Robert Walker (1939-1945) and David O. Selznick (1949 until his death in 1965). She also received Oscar nominations for Since You Went Away, Love Letters, Duel in the Sun (making four consecutive years) and Love is a Many-Splendored Thing. Mother of actor Robert Walker Jr. (Source: available at Amazon Quinlan's Film Stars).HONORS and AWARDS:
