MINI BIO:
Edie Martin was a beak-nosed bespectacled, beady-eyed, shrilly-spoken British actress who was usually seen in roles almost as tiny as herself, but so distinctive she could be picked out in a second. On stage at age six, she remained busy in that medium throughout her working life, which went on into her eighties, although she did find time for nearly 50 cameos in films, mostly as maids or frail but fierce old ladies.
