Anthony Caruso was a tall, solidly built, Italian-looking American actor with mobster style handsomeness. After abandoning a career as a singer, he broke into Hollywood films in the 1940s (1940, Johnny Apollo; 1946, The Blue Dahlia) but rarely achieved roles more than minor hoodlums and gunmen. He got his first leading role in the 1976 film, The Zebra Force.
