Marjorie Rambeau Overview:

Character actress, Marjorie Rambeau, was born on Jul 15, 1889 in San Francisco, CA. Rambeau died at the age of 81 on Jul 6, 1970 in Palm Springs, CA .

MINI BIO:

Handsome, sunny-dispositioned American actress with light-brown hair, on the stage at 12, a star of silents by 1916. With sound, she came back as a character actress, often as discarded mistresses, but in as many high- as low- society roles in post-war years. She made a few raucous comedies opposite Wallace Beery, rather ironically in the light of the fact that her character in Min and Bill had been killed off by Beery's most famous partner Marie Dressler, and was twice nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar, in The Primrose Path and Torch Song. Her characters were perhaps summed up by the title of her 1931 release Leftover Ladies.
