Legendary character actor, Brian Aherne, was born William Brian de Lacy Aherne on May 2, 1902 in King's Norton, England. Aherne appeared in over 60 film and TV roles. His best known films include I Live My Life, Merrily We Live, Juarez, Vigil in the Night, I Confess, The Locket, Titanic, Sylvia Scarlett, and The Best of Everything. Aherne died at the age of 83 on Feb 10, 1986 in Venice, FL and was cremated and his ashes given to family or friend.
MINI BIO:
Brian Aherne made his English stage debut in April 1910 at the age of 7, followed by his London stage debut just three years later. Although spending his youth studying architecture, he could not resist the lure of acting, and returned to the London stage in 1923, following with his British film debut in The Eleventh Commandment in 1924. In 1931, he made his way to Broadway to appear in The Barretts of Wimpole Street, and soon after, moved to Hollywood to embark on his U.S. film career.
