Fanny Brice Overview:

Legendary actress, Fanny Brice, was born Fania Borach on Oct 29, 1891 in New York City, NY. Brice died at the age of 59 on May 29, 1951 in Beverly Hills, CA .

MINI BIO:

One of the world's best-loved comediennes, Fanny Brice was more active off-screen than on, though some of her funniest routines were parodies of film stars like Theda Bara. On radio she was the annoying but enormously popular Baby Snooks.

She first gained public notice for her torch song "My Man" and later appeared in the silent film of the same name. Her infrequent films were generally concerned with show business, notably Ziegfeld Follies (1945) and The Great Ziegfeld (1936), in which she played herself. The life story of Fanny Brice inspired several movies, most notably Funny Girl (1968) starring Barbra Streisand as Brice.
