A bronze statue of Laurel and Hardy was unveiled in 2009 in the Cumbrian birthplace of Stan Laurel. It stands in Ulverston's County Square and shows Stan and Ollie leaning against a lamppost. The statue was designed and created by Graham Ibbeson.
Stan brought Ollie back to his hometown of Ulverston in 1947, and the duo famously waving from the Coronation Hall balcony to a huge crowd of adoring fans standing below.
