For the first time ever, TCM's Star of the Month will be the beautiful, exotic and talented Merle Oberon. Join TCM throughout March for a representative collection of Oberon movies, including her breakthrough film appearance as Anne Boleyn in The Private Life of Henry VIII opposite Charles Laughton in the title role. Born in Bombay of Anglo-Indian parentage (although she kept this heritage a secret throughout her professional life), Oberon established herself as a sophisticated star in such vehicles as These Three, The Divorce of Lady X, Affectionately Yours, The Lodger and Berlin Express. She was nominated for an Oscar for her roe in The Dark Angel, a story of star-crossed lovers during World War I, but is best remembered today for her role as Cathy in Wuthering Heights. Later films included Desiree and Hotel.
