France's Lumiere Film Festival, which shines a light on classic films, will honor legendary actress Sophia Loren and Oscar-winning composer Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel) during this year's festival in October.
They'll join honoree Martin Scorsese, who is set to get this year's Lumiere Award and feted by a roster of his collaborators at a special ceremony. Scorsese will also give a masterclass, as will French director Bertrand Tavernier (In the Electric Mist).
Pixar chief creative officer John Lasseter will speak, as part of the festival's meetings program. Lasseter will be the first of the week, followed by director Nicolas Winding Refn (Only God Forgives), actor Mads Mikkelsen (The Hunt) and veteran actress Geraldine Chaplin (Nashville).
