Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio's former Hollywood Hills love nest was recently taken off the market for $2.727 million, less than two months after it was first listed. The home, which is part of the Outpost Estates, a luxury area overlooking Runyon Canyon, was rented out by the pair shortly after they began dating in 1952; a canceled check from the time shows that Monroe was listed as the renter of the home.

Spanning 3,335 square feet, the two-story Mediterranean-style home includes four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, with a separate two-car garage and an expansive 8,228-square-foot grassy lot out back. The home itself features such luxurious details as tile floors, vaulted ceilings, French doors, and multiple fireplaces throughout. An especially airy living room leads out onto an upper-level terrace with its own room for outdoor dining, likely a space utilized frequently by the superstar pair. The kitchen, tucked away on the second floor of the home, features colorfully patterned tiles on the wall, as well as an industrial gas stove island in the middle of the space.

The master suite boasts its own fireplace, with double doors opening out onto a sunny veranda; the master bathroom features uniquely turquoise-lined built-in shelves and a dark-bottomed deep soaking tub and separate glass-enclosed shower. Out back, a grottolike pool and spa are seemingly nestled into the hillside, surrounded by trees and other vegetation for a scenic spot for a swim.
