NEW YORK, NY - JANUARY 15, 2015 - Kino Lorber is proud to announce its latest selection of classic Hollywood movies on its Kino Lorber Studio Classics label. These five hit films showcase the work of acclaimed filmmakers including Norman Jewison, John Frankenheimer, and Robert Aldrich, and such legendary stars as Sylvester Stallone, Roy Scheider, Ann-Margret, Rod Steiger, Peter Boyle, Carl Reiner, Alan Arkin, Jonathan Winters, Jeff Chandler, Jack Palance, Jennifer Jones, and many more.
Two films by Norman Jewison are set to street on February 10th, with individuals SRPs of $29.95 for the Blu-ray edition and $19.95 for the DVD: the Cold War-era comedy classic THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING, starring Carl Reiner and Eva Marie Saint as a New England couple whose lives are turned upside down when a Soviet sub runs aground outside their waterfront home, and the powerful drama F.I.S.T., starring Sylvester Stallone, Rod Steiger and Peter Boyle in the story of an idealistic young worker who works his way to the top of the Federation of Inter-State Truckers only to encounter corruption and betrayal. Both films include featurettes on the making of the films featuring director Norman Jewison.
Making its home video debut on February 17 is Robert Thom's cult classic, CULT OF THE DAMNED, starring OscarĀ®-winner Jennifer Jones (The Song of Bernadette) as a former stag film star whose daughter falls under the influence of a wild and dangerous rock star. Featuring audio commentary by film historians Nathaniel Thompson and Tim Greer, this stylish, decadent Hollywood cult shocker will become available on Blu-ray with a SRP of $29.95, and on DVD with a SRP of $24.95.
Roy Scheider and Ann-Margret star in 52 PICK-UP, a gripping thriller directed by John Frankenheimer (The Manchurian Candidate) about a successful entrepreneur, running for city council, who becomes the target of a ring of ruthless blackmailers out to destroy him. Based on the bestseller by the great Elmore Leonard, 52 PICK-UP streets on February 24th with a SRP of $29.95 for the Blu-ray edition and $19.95 for the DVD.
Also streeting on February 24th is a WWII drama from filmmaker Robert Aldrich (Kiss Me Deadly, The Longest Yard), TEN SECONDS TO HELL. Jeff Chandler and Jack Palance star as two German demolition experts who accept the dangerous mission of defusing unexploded bombs scattered throughout postwar Berlin. Newly remastered in HD, TEN SECONDS TO HELL comes with a SRP of $29.95 for the Blu-ray and $24.95 for the DVD.
