She first gained real recognition for her acting skills on Broadway.
And after a storied over fifty year career, Angela Lansbury is making another return to the stage.
The 90-year-old actress is set to star in a revival of Enic Bagnold's 1955 play The Chalk Garden on Broadway according to a recent report from Playbill.
She last appeared on the Broadway stage back in 2012 in a revival of Gore Vidal's The Best Man.
Angela has long been aiming to work on a revival of the play as she told the magazine for theatregoers: 'A lot of people knew I was angling to do it.'
No house has been set and no other names of the cast have been revealed but Scott Rudin and Andrew Bryan are producing the play according to Playbill.
When asked by Deadline for one sentence about the casting, 57-year-old Rudin said: 'I don't need a sentence! Two words: Angela Lansbury.'
The original run of The Chalk Garden was nominated for the Best Play Tony in 1956. It centres around a wealthy woman who is seeking a governess for her spoiled grandchild.
Angela has enjoyed plenty of successes on the stage as she has won a total of five Tony Awards throughout her career.
Most recently, she took home the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her role in 2009's revival of Blithe Spirit.
