Although a widely circulated story is stating that Doris Day would return to the big screen for a new collaboration with Clint Eastwood, the 93-year-old actress and singer has denied the rumor.
"While Doris always appreciates hearing from her fans, the rumors about her returning to the big screen are not true. She adores her long-time friend Clint Eastwood, but Doris' recent and current focus remains on her Doris Day Animal Foundation, who continue to help animals and the people who love them," Day's rep, Charley Walters, told PEOPLE.
According to an article in the German tabloid Bild posted earlier this month, Day had had been given a script by Eastwood, her longtime friend, that had convinced her to return to acting. Both Day and Eastwood reside in Carmel, California.Day's most recent film was the 1968 romantic comedy With Six You Get Eggroll, and save for a scattered few TV appearances in the '70s, she effectively retired from acting after the conclusion of The Doris Day Show in 1973.
