LOS ANGELES, CA (February 27, 2018) - Can love and understanding endure decades of deceit among three generations of women? Can a new perspective heal both old wounds and new? These are some of the themes explored in the award-winning independent feature film “Snapshots, which is premiering at the Cinequest Film Festival beginning March 3 in San Jose, CA, followed by a roster of film festival premieres this spring.
Snapshots tracks the lives of three generations of women during an annual weekend visit to grandmother Rose’s lake house. Rose’s secret past is exposed when daughter Patty and granddaughter Allison’s angry and explosive relationship issues unravel. Spurred by the discovery of Rose’s old Brownie camera and the recently developed secrets held inside, the audience travels into Rose’s deceitful yet love-filled past, the painful choices she made, and the lessons learned that she must pass on to a new generation.
Based on a true story, Snapshots features veteran actors who have journeyed through Oscar nominated performances, Emmy award-winning television shows, and historically significant films. Piper Laurie (grandmother “Rose) has enjoyed an incredible career with major roles in such hit movies as The Hustler with Paul Newman, Carrie with Sissy Spacek, and Children of a Lesser God with William Hurt and Marlee Matlin - with all three performances garnering her Oscar nominations. Ms. Laurie’s career is lauded with many successful television series roles as well, including a Golden Globe award for Twin Peaks, an Emmy for Promise, and Emmy nominations for Frasier, St. Elsewhere, and The Thorn Birds.
