Spike Jones's famous line in "Chloe", "Where are you, you old bat?" is changed to, "Where are you, you old witch?" because of censorship from the Hays Office.
All known copies in circulation are missing a 40-second segment from the Spike Jones production number, referring to "Eleanor" (Roosevelt). Please check your attic. After its theatrical run, the joke was soon outdated.
Another Jones production number, "That Old Black Magic", was also considered for this movie.
One of over 700 Paramount Productions, filmed between 1929 and 1949, which were sold to MCA/Universal in 1958 for television distribution, and have been owned and controlled by Universal ever since. However, due to legal complications, this particular title was not included in the original television package and was not televised until several years later.
This film introduced the standard, "You Moved Right In" in a big production number "sung" and danced by Marjorie Reynolds (singing dubbed by Martha Mears).
