Director Allan Dwan was at the home of a friend who was an executive at Paramount Pictures, discussing casting for this film. Dwan looked out the window and saw a group of neighborhood kids playing baseball on the street, and noticed a young girl of about 12 who was playing better than any of the boys on her team. He thought she would be perfect for a role in this picture, and after talking to her parents, hired her for this film. The girl was Carole Lombard.
Film debut of Carole Lombard.
The only film in which Carole Lombard was credited under her real name of Jane Peters.
