Louis F. Edelman

After graduating from Harvard, became a movie salesman on the East Coast before relocating to Hollywood in 1929 to manage Loew's State and Egyptian Theaters. Hired in the early 1930's by Irving Thalberg, by the middle of the decade moving on to Warner Brothers as associate producer. Heavily involved in television from 1954, later as head of his own production company, Louis Edelman Enterprises.

President of the Screen Producers Guild, 1965-67.

Served with distinction in the U.S. Navy during World War I, winning the Navy Cross for bravery during an action in the North Atlantic when he rescued the crew of his torpedoed ship.

Widow Rita dies, Woodland Hills, California, USA, age 90. [3 November 2000]
