Graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., where he majored in performing arts.
He was the founding director of L.A. Arts, a nonprofit theater group in Los Angeles.
Megna's Broadway success at age 7 in 1960's "All the Way Home" led to his being cast as 'Dill', the toothy young summer visitor, in To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) with Gregory Peck. The character of 'Dill' was based on author Harper Lee's childhood friend, writer Truman Capote.
Turned to stage directing as an adult.
Younger stepbrother of Connie Stevens.
