Before she became a solo act, she partnered in clubs with then-husband crooner Dick Haymes. They separated in 1961, but did not divorce until 1965.

Daughter, with Dick Haymes: Stephanie Haymes (Taupin) Roven was born in 1959.

Did two nude layouts in Playboy magazine. One, at age 40, was titled "Frantastic!" The other, when she was 45, was titled "Still Frantastic!".

Fran's second husband, actor-turned-director Richard Quine, featured her in a couple of his films: Sex and the Single Girl (1964) and A Talent for Loving (1969). Quine's first wife was actress Susan Peters, who was accidentally shot and paralyzed after her gun accidentally discharged and a bullet lodged in her spine while she and Quine were on a hunting trip in San Diego. Quine committed suicide in 1989 after years of poor health.
