The Timothy Carey Experience Posted by Marisa on Dec 23, 2011
Ending the work week this Friday before Christmas is a portion of a German program for Paths of Glory (1957), very similar to the one I posted a while back for The Killing (1956). (I will try to get both of them scanned in in their entirety, now that my husband has a new extra-large scanner). It read more

The Timothy Carey Experience Posted by Marisa on Dec 21, 2011
EDITOR’S NOTE 05/22/12: The original video posted has been removed by the user, so I replaced it with this one, “Song for Lilly Christine” by Big Rude Jake. I like this one better! Our video for this week is something a bit different. Tim arrived in LaFitte, Louisiana in the fall o read more

Quote of the Week (56)
The Timothy Carey Experience Posted by Marisa on Dec 18, 2011
This week’s quote is once again not by Timothy but about him: “I think I stayed on just to watch Timothy Carey around the Craft Services table! He was certifiable. I mean, he was climbing the walls. They almost had to get a net just to pull him over so he could say his lines, and then he read more
Pic of the Day: “Bloodhounds of Broadway” revisited (3)
The Timothy Carey Experience Posted by Marisa on Dec 16, 2011
Ending the work week is another pic from Bloodhounds of Broadway (1952), directed by Harmon Jones. Tim doesn’t have a whole lot to do in the uncredited role of Crockett Pace, Mitzi Gaynor‘s hillbilly suitor, but it was one of his first speaking parts. Also in uncredited parts here are C read more

Today’s pic (and don’t make me remind you to click to embiggen) is another from Alaska Seas (1954). Tim’s boat repairman Wycoff is spending the evening singing to his cat. I wonder how Tim’s career would have turned out if he hadn’t been tone deaf and had gone into sin read more

Pic of the Day: “The Boy and the Pirates” revisited (4)
The Timothy Carey Experience Posted by Marisa on Dec 13, 2011
I was very saddened to learn of the death on Sunday of Susan Gordon. She was the daughter of director Bert I. Gordon and co-starred in several of his films, including The Boy and the Pirates (1960). Here she is from that film, doing her best to stay clear of Tim’s destructive pirate rampage. read more

“Everything was fine until I got to Parris Island, then I didn’t like the Marine Corps. Oh, I could tell you things about the Marine Corps, boy. I’m not kidding. I called my mother and I said ‘I wanna get out of here!’ I didn’t like it at all. It wasn’t what I believed it was going to read more

“It’s amazing how people get so afraid and weak. I was up for a big part in Bonnie and Clyde, but Arthur Penn took one look at me and almost fainted in my arms. He’d heard that I’d gotten into a punch-out with Elia Kazan on East of Eden. Which wasn’t true. But because o read more
