Of course, tha read more

A nice Facebook 'Tribute'

Carole & Co. Posted by carole_and_co on Apr 20, 2015

Isn't that a delightful photo of Carole Lombard, surrounded by hay, said to be from 1937? I wasn't aware of its existence until I saw it the other day at a new Facebook site dedicated to Carole. It's called "Carole Lombard Tribute" (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Carole-Lombard-Tribute/7261865608347 read more

Lukas + linen = luscious

Plan to pre-order 'Ice Cream (Blonde)'

Carole & Co. Posted by vp19 on Apr 18, 2015

That's Carole Lombard from sometime in the late 1920s, about the time she had become a star of sorts in two-reelers from Mack Sennett. Perhaps if he'd had the resources or mindset of his prime rival, Hal Roach, Sennett might have been able to craft Carole into someone similar to Roach's top female p read more

A 'pet picture' of Carole

Carole & Co. Posted by carole_and_co on Apr 17, 2015

Carole Lombard ranked with any classic Hollywood star where love for animals was concerned, and this one page, from the February 1937 issue of Screenland , proves it. We even learn the names of Carole's menagerie. The relationship between Carole and director Mitchell Leisen also is noted (although si read more

He didn't get the girl, but at least he got a kiss

Carole & Co. Posted by carole_and_co on Apr 16, 2015

For much of his career, Ralph Bellamy was the inevitable third wheel, the guy who never got the girl. He didn't get Carole Lombard in "Hands Across the Table," either, but Lombard was nice enough to give him a peck on his forehead. It's an original vintage image, as the back makes evident:It's up fo read more

'Dressing' a herald with a twist

Carole & Co. Posted by vp19 on Apr 15, 2015

"We're Not Dressing" is hardly a classic, but it's plenty of fun, a Bing Crosby musical vehicle with Carole Lombard thrown into the mix, not to mention Ethel Merman, Leon Errol, George Burns and Gracie Allen (neither of whom are pictured here -- they're elsewhere on the island) and even a young Ray read more

'30s solidarity! Help the magnificent Myrna

Carole & Co. Posted by carole_and_co on Apr 14, 2015

Two of the more avid tennis fans in Hollywood heaven, Myrna Loy and Carole Lombard, enjoy watching Alice Marble and Bobby Riggs team up for a mixed doubles match (as they did while on our mortal coil in the late 1930s). But that isn't the primary reason Myrna asked her good friend to see the match, read more
