Tall, slightly stooping, long-faced American supporting actor with a slick of dark hair and a hangdog look. Quite unmistakable in appearance, but rarely rose above minor roles; a happy exception was his seedy apartment house detective in The Blue Dahlia. His credits are sometimes confused with those of a younger actor, William Wright. Died from cancer.
