Reginald Beckwith Overview:

Character actor, Reginald Beckwith, was born William Reginald Beckwith on Nov 2, 1908 in York, England. Beckwith died at the age of 56 on Jun 26, 1965 in Bourne End, England .

MINI BIO:

British actor of the "Oh-dear-what's-to-become-of-us?" school. He started as a successful playwright with acting as the second string to his bow: but, after 1948, these roles began to be reversed (although he continued to write - Boys in Brown was one of his earliest hit plays) and he was to be found wringing his hands in the background of numerous British comedies. He could also tackle comic businessmen and straight dramatic roles with equal conviction. His writing talents led him to try film and theatre criticism and from 1941 to 1945 he was a war correspondent for the BBC.
