Buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo, NY.

While filming Ball of Fire (1941) in 1941, she was hospitalized by Barbara Stanwyck when Stanwyck delivered a mock punch and accidentally hit Howard in the face and fractured her jaw. Stanwyck was reportedly mortified by the incident.
