MINI BIO:
Kindly-looking with small features and a prominent nose, Jean Anderson was an actress from an early age, doing repertory work in Cambridge and Dublin before coming to the London stage. She almost always appeared in sympathetic roles to which she brought a benevolent force of personality: nurses, policewomen, teachers, social workers and various senior officials. She made fewer films than one imagined, and became entrenched in television from the early 1970s in two long-running series, The Brothers and Tenko.
