Crowned Miss France in 1954, Jacqueline Beer made her television debut in 1955 playing a nightclub mind reader named 'Yvette' in The People's Choice TV episode called 'Sock Plays Cupid.' Over the course of her 16-year television and film career, she appeared in 27 roles, most notably as 'Yvette' in Pillow Talk (1959), Monique Souvir in The Prize (1963), another 'Yvette' on TV's The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show (1956-1957), and as switchboard operator 'Suzanne Fabray' in the television series Sunset Strip (1958-1963). In 1991, she married noted Norwegian ethnographer and documentary film director/producer, Thor Heyerdahl. They remained married until his death in 2002.
