MINI BIO:
After trying various other occupations in the early 1930s, Douglas Fowley decided to make acting his career and was soon typecast as a villain. As age tempered his characterizations, his villains tended to become bemused rather than plain mean. He was notable as the bellowing movie director in "Singin' in the Rain" and subsequently found ready employers in many TV series.
