Legendary actor, Danny Thomas, was born Amos Alphonsus Muzyad Yakhoob on Jan 6, 1914 in Deerfield, MI. Thomas died at the age of 77 on Feb 6, 1991 in Los Angeles, CA and was laid to rest in Saint Jude Hospital Grounds Cemetery in Memphis, TN.

HONORS and AWARDS:

He was honored with one star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the category of Television. Danny Thomas's handprints and footprints were 'set in stone' at Grauman's Chinese Theater during imprint ceremony #106 on Jan 26, 1954. In addition, Thomas was inducted into the TV Hall of Fame . Thomas was never nominated for an Academy Award.

Danny Thomas was a founding minority owner of the NFL team "Miami Dolphins."

Was a good friend of the late Sammy Davis Jr., who appeared at every one of Thomas's St. Jude's benefits.
