MINI BIO:

Brown haired, lively-eyed, heavily-mustachioed, and usually bespectacled Scottish-born character comedian, who ran dual careers in Hollywood as spluttering western sidekicks and the star of minimum-budget two-reel comedies (nearly 150 of them). His characters spun tall tales and usually had an eye for a pretty girl. He left films behind in 1956 and spent the last decade of his life as a regular in such series as The Real McCoys, No Time for Sergeants, and Lassie. From a theatrical family, he emigrated to America in 1923.
