MINI BIO:
Vincent Gardenia was a bulky, full-faced Italian-born actor, usually seen as the forehead-mopping police chief, Mafia boss or city official. He started acting at five years old with his father's Italian theatre in Manhattan, but didn't get a foothold in films until he was nearly 50, around the same time as he received a Tony for "The Prisoner of Second Avenue" on stage. He is probably best known as the detective trying to keep tabs on Charles Bronson in the "Death Wish" film.
