Legendary producer, Hal Roach, was born Harold Eugene Roach on Jan 14, 1892 in Elmira, NY. Roach died at the age of 100 on Nov 2, 1992 in Los Angeles, CA and was laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira, NY.

Although Roach was nominated for two Oscars, he never won a competitive Academy Award. However he won one Honorary Oscar Award in 1983 in recognition of his unparalleled record of distinguished contributions to the motion picture art form .
