Anderson is probably best known for her role as Darrin Stephen's neurotic mom on TV's Bewitched. She also played Donald Hollinger's mother on That Girl, and Howard Sprague's mother on The Andy Griffith Show. Albertson died at the age of 81 on Sep 28, 1982 in Santa Monica, CA and was cremated and her ashes scattered in the Pacific Ocean.
MINI BIO:
Mabel Albertson studied acting at the New England School of Speech and Expression. She started her acting career in vaudeville in the 1920s, then moved on to radio and stage work in the 1930s and 1940s. In the 1950s, she successfully broke into TV and films, making a name for herself playing the quintessential domineering mother-in-law and interfering mom.
