MINI BIO:
Heavyweight stage actor, Walter Connolly, came to Talkies in the 1930s (after a false start in silents) and proved his talent in screwball comedies. Usually with a thick, black mustache and an 'at his wits end' persona, he played his share of exasperated business tycoons, newspapermen, and dads. His most famous roles include Claudette Colbert's father in It Happened One Night (1934), and Myrna Loy's father in Libeled Lady (1936). Other notable roles include General Yen's American advisor in The Bitter Tea of General Yen (1933), Paul Muni's worthless uncle in The Good Earth (1937) and a con man in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1939).
